How to grow sales - The 4 Ps for success

"How to grow sales?"

Most people believe that to properly answer this question, we need to focus on sales and marketing only.
Our extensive international experience show that this is NOT the case. This answer is based on thousands of case studies and over 25 years in the Fashion Industry.

We highly recommend that you work hard on the following 4 Ps to improve and grow sales continuously:

  1. Picture
  2. Products
  3. People
  4. Processes

Picture
Have a clear vision and values for your business and then build a solid strategy and action plan.
Have full clarity on who is your target audience (use our fashion mapping approach to do that effectively) then design and manufacture what is right for this audience and not what is right for you.
Having a plan means that the prospect will gain confidence as he will see this plan being executed with discipline and consistency. Over time, you will see the prospect buy your products.
The strength of the plan will also prove useful with current clients who will buy more.
Those extra sales will come easier as you will understand the exact needs of the buyer.

Products
Your insufficient sales can be coming from
1. a poor or insufficient product range,
2. chosing the wrong product categories or
3. having the wrong stock level to answer clients' needs.
Remember to understand which product category, style or price point are important for the buyer and initially just push those. Help the buyer fix his problem or reach his unmet desire.

People
You need to ensure that you, your team and service providers are committed to the goals you have set up. Invest in recruiting the staff and partners well, train them well, help them be better leaders. Renew this commitment regularly.

Processes
Have a process for all key tasks in the business and make sure those processes are improved as you scale up.
